Association Steering Committee Expands, Garners Support
ByThe announcement of the formation of the Steering Committee for a nascent “Global Address Data Association” has drawn a great deal of interest from every corner of the globe. As a result of our first webinar and the appearance of the news on Hellmail and Postcom I have received “congratulations” from Germany, Italy, France, and as far afield as Brazil and India and a yacht now on holiday from its round-the-world trip and taking a rest in New Zealand. We have another volunteer member of the Steering Committee, Bill Spruill of AddressDoctor, bringing us to nine members. Our first meeting will take place next week and will touch on our mission statement, an agreed list of projects for completion before the end of 2010, and perhaps a name.
Among the voices of goodwill and support is that of Wesley Wood of Marketing Capital Corporation who has been mailing abroad longer than I have been a working adult, and who has experienced all the problems and issues we are going to work on. With his permission, I set out his message below:
I am more than happy to hear from those with an interest in our work. We intend to improve the cost effectiveness (read ROI) of international letter and parcel mailing. We will do this through improving address data quality and fair and transparent availability of such data. Please send me an email to join the list to receive news about this “movement’ or register as a Silver member on this website and you will receive notice of posts on this blog.
